Current period / Incantations

Since 2000

The new century has resulted in a phase of liberation and stabilization, symbolized by the change of workshop and the installation of Leïla and Henri Baviera in Lorgues (Var) in the heart of nature.

The influence of the living principle on the work forms a loop with his beginnings concerns. He now lays down through his painting a vision of the world that is also a commitment, a way of defending an alternative form of civilization.

It is the result of looking at the natural elements, which are part of the composition. By developing what Baviera calls a meta-vision of the world, it seeks to translate harmony. To do this, he must find composite forms that reflect the existing while recomposing it into an artwork. The ode to nature experienced as autonomous then takes the repetitive, sacred form of incantations, which the figure further reinforces

insisting of the totem pole. The use of colors is a constant appeal to fundamental elements, water, earth, air, and fire.

This work’s ambition is also to influence people's thinking towards more respect for life and nature. Refounding a humanism by emphasizing the universality of life that goes beyond anthropocentrism in which the mind and culture are still too often enclosed.

Période actuelle / Incantations

Depuis 2000
