A WORD BY THE ARTIST
ArtyHum Magazine - Spain
By: José Angel Pérez Martínez
Firstly, I will display the tools I have used to
realize this analysis or study in order to talkabout unification and not about disperseideas considered by any way to vinculateall those concerns that I intend to publishin my internal-self.
In the first time, I started to understand that everything we usually call schools, or tendencies into the art, will always by someway or another precede over us and it could be called “Point of starting or support” so, by this way, we take them byan essay or example. Inside the picture
terms, if the imitation of an object had a specific value by itself we obviously had to image that any piece of work created under this imitation premise would have by force to possess a pictoric value.
Really, I do not pretend to make people understand my ideas and way of thinking as absolute realties.
As any other artist, during all my life I have developed a big amount of reflexions and deep planstic analysis which intermix my personal visions with concepts and realities of the world and history for the creativity of each work.
I have been studying my work and pieces for over fifty years. Year after year adding covers and stages which have been forging up to date. By this way, they have enriched and debigging with less daily or figurative
forms each time adding to others which reflexes a more gestural, almost abstract, but where are prevailing some images of magical nature.
Much more than capture a concept, in a few words it would be necessary to make a concession, which usually would sacrifice the clearity or would result extremely simple.
Every age, we have seen different works passing by, some of them not so good but they have obtained good acceptance and success either immediate or ephemeral few of them scarifying the deepness of the proper work on account of an atractive and colorful surface or else on the contrary works with external elaborated calligraphy which we tend to call “Paintings with character”. I would choose not to conceptualize my work that He who sees it dreams andthink freely about it. I do not pretend, as I said before, try to make think or believe that the work I do is a transcendental masterpiece of art, neither a new one which might be considered dreaming and capturing all those fantasies by different ways of support to unify differently schools or tendencies during the last
100 years in a kind of special work with very personal characteristics which may reflex what am I and what I feel, something that I have been capturing on each one of my works.
Either one who could be able to make a plastic analysis as the one that comes only to fill itself with color and magical expressions, can make a good trip through this work, and to the well-knower, I’ll remind
the beginning of what we call “Modern painting”. Even though each age since the art was born in caves; it will always be
contemporary at its moment.
We can find reflexes about impressionism and surrealism of Kandinsky abstractionism from whom I learned a lot about the use of color in the space, about the Fauves and their darkness taking into account that
nothing is impossible into the art and also about Cubeness and its way of sectioningthe forms into the space.
That has been my journey through the wonderful world where I have felt enormously privileged to be an artist was not my own choice, but it was something that came to me before I was born all mighty god designed me to realize the the wonderful task of giving dreams to others, that’s why I invite to everyone who likes this job, to share my characters, my worlds, mydreams and my fantasies.
