THE SECRET GARDEN OF THE MIND BY COSMINA. An experimental collection of 42 original and unique artworks based on the surrealist automatism theory: suppressing the conscious control over the creating process to allow the unconscious mind to take control. "... my idea was mainly to try the automatic drawing technique or the Surrealist non-stop drawing process. I have also applied Klee’s teaching saying that “A line is a dot that went for a walk.” And I had a lot of fun. ... It is like my hand was guided by a higher spirit, more powerful than my human head can imagine it ..." Cosmina May 2019

A part of this series is destined to museums. Some of these original artworks are offered for sale to the public.

THIS WEEK

FOCUS ON COSMINA

Cosmina, a French artist now living in New York, has defined her original personal style after reading the theories by Vassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee, who were among the founders of abstraction. She chose the approach of "dripping painting" adopted by Jackson Pollock. Points and lines are reduced to the simplest expression creating an approach that she calls "controlled serendipitous painting."

Cosmina's paintings are sought after by collectors all around the world. Also a scholar in art history, and especially in Modern and Contemporary art, Cosmina has written several books about Modern and Contemporary Art,

This slide show presents a small selection of recent available works and older masterpieces.
