THIS WEEK

FOCUS ON NICOLAE A. ENE

Nicolae A. Ene is an American artist born in 1977. He lives and works in New Jersey.

I discovered Nicolae Ene's works in 2014, and I have been promoting him in worldwide exclusivity ever since.

Uniqueness is the most appropriate qualifier for Ene's work. He has been immediately recognized by savvy collectors worldwide.

From a distance, his works attract the viewer by the beauty of colors and harmonious compositions.

But with a closer look, we enter Ene's world and discover an incredibly intricate maze of markings that  is Ene's specific identity.

Nicolae Ene meditates on humanity that he describes as a most interesting creature, beautiful and ugly, full of so much potential and flawed so perfectly.

The boundaries that bind humans all together is a significant theme in his work.

In Nicolae Ene's earlier works these boundaries seemed to be apparent, materialized with straight lines and perfect curves that formed a kind of psychological fortress from which the pure essence tries to escape.

Useless and non-essential, the straight lines have disappeared. The real boundaries are microscopic, omnipresent, and intricate.

The creative process is slow and painstaking. It takes Nicolae Ene from 5 to 10 weeks to complete one painting. Uniqueness and rarity give Ene's paintings a rising collectible value.

This slide show presents a selection of  16 recent available works and older masterpieces.
